Tsuchi and Rose

Soo if you remember my changeling character Rose.. this is her with her non-biological sister Tsuchi. As you can see I had a hard time getting those poses right
May color and/or redo this in the future

Oh! Right. when I made Rose, I said I'd give the backstory when I finished designing Tsuchi, didn't I?

Ahem.

Tsuchi (to the right); is an earth pony who doesn't really speak much English. She's a kind of.. ninja, I guess would be a good term. 

Tsuchi, even as a filly, was a very strong fighter; and as of the day she saved Rose (changeling), a "special" Earth pony; but that will be expanded on soon.   

She was kicked out of her family as a young filly. Her family consisting of martial artists at a far corner of Equestria. They disowned her for befriending and taking in Rose who, at the time, had been badly hurt because she'd gotten too close to a pony in her normal form; and they attacked her. So, as mentioned, Tsuchi took her in and cared for her... and then her family found out and also tried to attack Rose.

So Tsuchi, in an attempt to protect her from them, jumped between them and stomped on the ground; causing a small explosion of fire and air. Obviously that would frighten and stun everyone in front of her (including herself momentarily), so she took the advantage and grabbed Rose; running as far away as she could get with her family yelling behind her.

And they've been traveling since.

Tsuchi later found out that she was able to do that magical burst because she was originally a unicorn. Apparently there was an accident at her birth that caused her horn to be irreparably shattered; the best they could do was heal the scar. The explosion was the buildup of her magic that was released in a fit of fear and rage.
Because of that accident she, as an earth pony, is able to use many forms of elemental magic in the form of chi. An ability which was coincidentally honed by her martial arts training as a filly.

In terms of her cutie mark, she'd never gotten it; probably because of the incident that shattered her horn.
She also has a very hard time trusting anyone aside from Rose, because of what happened.

I hope it gives a good characterization of her, at least.
